Just a quick note before my yoga class. I am crazy about this super-rich salty honey pie recipe from Four + Twenty Blackbirds. It's got intensely complicated flavor. I made it for our intimate Thanksgiving dinner, and have eaten it every night since (Mark didn't care for it, so more for me!). Which brings me to this fair warning: you need a pretty accepting palate to enjoy this custard pie. Notice I didn't say you need a sophisticated palate, since that would imply that I have a sophisticated palate and I would never want to be that pretentious. (Well, I don't want to be that pretentious today.) I said you need an "accepting" palate. This dessert is definitely not for everyone.
