Over the course of six months, Mark's sister Susie lost about 20 pounds on a gluten-free diet. When she arrived in San Francisco to visit us a few weeks ago, I hardly recognized her svelte form. Now I'm considering watching the wheat in my own diet. I don't know if I have the patience to go balls-to-the-wall on this, but if I go at least 75% gluten-free (easily achieved by stopping bread consumption, stepping up my fruit and veggie intake, and buying food labeled "gluten-free"), I think I can shed a handful of LBs. And maybe this spare tire around my waist. If you have any tips, send 'em my way.
