We've just bid our house guest of two weeks, Mark's sister Susie, goodbye! Surprisingly, we never ran out of things to show her. I've come to learn that actually living in an international city is much different from visiting an international city. Before Sue's arrival, Mark and I fretted about how we could possibly fill two whole weeks of activities, but realized early on that two weeks probably wouldn't be enough time to show her all the wonders San Francisco has to offer: Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market, Twin Peaks at sunset, the Golden Gate Bridge, Green Apple Books, Suppenkuche...the list goes on and on! I must say, getting to know the city all over again through Sue's wonderment was an unexpected pleasure.
I'm enjoying the parade of people who have visited our house since Mark and I returned from our summer holidays! I'm hoping for more. I really like the new energy that each visitor brings. And I really, really want to put together one of these homemade house-guest survival kits.
By the way, I am officially (albeit temporarily) Facebook free. I deactivated my account today, the first day of a four-month detox. Wish me luck.
